Hollywood: Date Night

This past week I missed out on doing this with my babe and our family:
so I could sit home and pray that I didn't go into labor while my sweet husband was 8 hours away. Not to say that I will be this lucky but my mom's labors were all really fast. Like an hour fast. Major anxiety? Yes. It was pretty intense.

No it actually turned out to be way better than I had imagined because
A. I didn't go into labor while my husband wasn't in town
and
B. My sweet dad ended up coming down to spend a few days with me which I was so grateful for.
We only have 25 more days until my due date! Last Friday my doctor "checked" me for the first time and I was 1 1/2 cm dilated and 50 % effaced. We're getting closer!!! He was measuring at 6.9 pounds which will make him around 8 pounds if I have him around my EDD.  His head is very round and is measuring a week and half larger than I am. He has a very skinny chest and long thigh bones. Not sure where those came from! I was able to see his face for the first time as a real face and not just the bone structure... so crazy!!! He's got the cutest little baby lips and nose... can't wait to give them some lovin! My doctor said that she didn't think I would make it to my due date. Thank goodness!!! I feel like a ticking time bomb now. You never know when the pain is going to hit... oh man. Honestly, how do you even prepare for this? I've never gone through any major kind of pain so I don't even know how I will handle it. I guess we'll see how my pain tolerance is... I'm hoping its good (not only for my sake but for Brady's as well). Yesterday the power went out at work so I was able to get off a couple of hours early and when I called Brady I told him I was going into labor. Okay it wasn't really funny but I just had to!

With my work and Brady's school schedule it's hard for us to find the time to get out too far but a couple of weeks ago we were able to spend the afternoon in Hollywood! We haven't been out there for so long and I was able to find a really good deal for a tour on Groupon so we jumped on the chance to go! It was a fun experience but I must admit that the bus ride was really bumpy... like it's going to put me into labor right now bumpy haha. We drove up to the Hollywood sign, passing Justin Beiber's house on the way.

Who ever knew there was a lake out here? So pretty!!

This is some guys garage door... made completely out of books!!

After the tour was over we decided to walk the Walk of Stars and the huge mall they have.

Afterwords we finished our night by going to the Hard Rock Cafe!!! A much needed date night with my babe.. love him!

  3. That garage door is sooo awesome! Is there a layer over it so the books don't fall out when it opens? Wow! I need to get me one of those!!!! I can't wait for your boy to get here! it will be spectacular - the pain will be intense but then you'll forget and want to do it all over again, hehe.

  4. Looks like so much fun! I can't wait for little Bentley to finally arrive!! It's getting so close!!! Labor is crazy, but so worth it after it's all over! Are you getting an epidural, or going natural?

    1. Lauren! I'm going with an epidural! Did you do it natural or with an epidural? I had thought about doing in natural for a bit but I am wanting to enjoy the experience as much as possible... and I think that means I need an epidural haha :)

  6. So exciting to be getting so close. In all honesty, you're never, ever ready for that first one. It's as wonderful as it is difficult and in the end is the hardest/best thing you'll ever do. :)
