Stephanie Meyer. I love her books and since I've read the Twilight series and The Host I haven't been able to find a book that I can say I REALLY LOVE. I went out to lunch with my wonderful friend Shan and her Mom the other day and saw The Time Travelers Wife which by the way is pretty good and you should all see :) (kinda sad though). But Shan is a read-a-holic so I know I can always count on her for some good book ideas. This time she suggested that I read a book called The Hunger Games which I had never heard of but apparently it's all the rave right now. Last night Brady and I went to Borders and I convinced him that if he would let me buy this book, we could go and see G.I. Joe tonight... haha what a deal!! So for those of you who haven't heard about this book this is what its about:
.
The Hunger Games takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of North America, in a nation known as Panem. Panem consists of a rich Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol, every year one boy and one girl from each district are forced to participate in "The Hunger Games", a sadistic reality- TV show in which a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district is selected via lottery where the participants, or "tributes", must fight to the death in an outdoor arena until only one remains. The story follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the Games in place of her younger sister, Primrose.

Ohh, sounds exciting! Right now I'm only on page 6 but I'm interested to see how it all turns out!!
