Spinach Lime Smoothie

All throughout my pregnancy I was really good at trying to stay active by doing lots of walking and lots of blending my own juices! But once I had Bentley I fell out of the habit. I started working out again about a month ago and it feels so good to get back in to the swing of things! There is no excuse and I don't know what I was thinking putting it off for so long. I'm trying to be more consistent at it now :)

When I came home this morning from the gym Brady had breakfast ready for me including one of our favorite Green Smoothies. He's a keeper, I know ;).

I've always been really into juicing and blending smoothies since my dad would always make me some while I was in High School and am so glad I've continued to do it! I feel like I am able to get so much more fruits and veggies into my diet when I blend everything versus having to eat each one separately! As unappealing as the color may look, don't be mislead... this smoothie is very sweet with a little bit of a tang kick to it. You can always hide the bitter flavor of veggies (my favorite being spinach or kale) by adding enough fruit to balance it out!

Spinach Lime Smoothie
1 Green Apple
1 Orange
1/4-1/2 a Lime (peel and all)
2 slices of a Pineapple
(Cut off the outer skin but leave the core! I know it sounds crazy but the core is actually really healthy for you, and you will have no idea it's in there anyway. Plus, it saves you time from having to cut it up!)
Hand full of Spinach
Kale (I rip off a few leaves)
4-6 oz. of Coffee-Mate French Vanilla Creamer
Blend and Enjoy!

This is our favorite smoothie right now but really, the possibilities are endless! I used to do ones with beets, spinach, berries, and just whatever we had at the time. Just experiment and you will find out what flavors you really enjoy.
Happy Blending :)

  7. I've never been a smoothie person, but I've been thinking I need to get more fruits and veggies in my diet lately and have been looking for a recipe. Maybe I'll have to try this one out. Do you just use a regular blender?

    1. Hi Tiffany! It's so true, some blenders are not able to break down the spinach leaves very well but we use a Blendtec and we love it!

  16. Have you ever heard of PB2? It's powered peanut butter. Throw that in with some ice, water, sugar-free vanilla jello powder and as much spinach that will fit and it tastes just like the peanut butter mood smoothie from jamba juice! It's so good.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, so nice to meet you :)

  21. I bet that does taste good! I've never tried a green smoothie, but my husband and I really like a bunch of different fruit smoothies that we "invent" based on whatever fruit we have at the time. It really wouldn't be hard to throw some spinach in!
