Here is an update of what we've been up to... with more to come!
In May we were able to go out to Cali for the first time since learned that we were accepted. While we were there we were able to attend Brady's brother Greg's graduation which was really fun. It was such a great trip and we had lots of fun with all of the family there! One of the days that we were there we went out to South Pasadena which is a little city outside of L.A. where we've heard a lot of members live. From what we saw we really liked it but we weren't able to see any apartments while we were there.
At the end of July we had the opportunity to go out to L.A. with some friends to check out our new apartment! We left on Thursday afternoon and were meeting up with the Realtor the next morning so we figured we'd just stay in a cheap hotel the first night....what a mistake!!! We got up to our room and I now wish I had just slept in the car. To save your gag reflex I did not take a picture of it, but there were ANTS EVERYWHERE! Yes, it was a nightmare! The tile in the bathroom and the carpet was stained with I don't even want to know what. To say the least, we had a restless night! The next morning we drove out to our "Home Sweet Home" and hoped it was in as good as condition as we could tell from the pictures! We love our new apartment and are so excited to get it all decorated to make it feel like home.
We didn't end up booking a hotel for the rest of the weekend since we planned on just staying in our apartment which turned out to be super fun. We brought blow up mattresses and pretty much camped out in our apartment with no electricity. I think it was a little too close to camping for Brady's liking :)
While we were there, we were able to spend a day at the Santa Monica Pier. We were shocked at how cold it the water was but it was still beautiful to look at :)
(Thanks Amanda for these pictures)
We went out to Maggianos, our new favorite Italian Restaurant and ourfriends ordered spaghetti and meatballs. What our waiter failed to mention to us was the meatballs were actually softballs!
We had such a fun weekend with our friends and can't wait for them to come back!
